Goa's Climate - Goa
has a temperate climate which implies that it does not have
to bear the extremes of weather, neither the scorching heat
nor the freezing cold. The Climate of Goa is pleasant and
sunny for the major portion of the year except for the monsoons
that lasts from June to September. One remarkable fact about
the Climate of Goa is that apart from the monsoons one can't
draw any clear demarcations between the other seasons.
The average temperature in Goa range from 25 - 30 degree
Celsius and the average rainfall is recorded at 325 centimeters.
During the summer months, the Goan sunshine can be enjoyed
for an average of nine to ten hours a day which slides down
to three to five hours during the monsoon season. January
and February are the coldest months and May is the hottest
month in Goa. For the rest of the year there is the prevalence
of the tropical weather. Rains are ushered in Goa by the south
west monsoons from June and this rainy spell continues well
upto the month of September. Goa receives the maximum amount
of rain in the month of July. Before the onset of the monsoons,
there is a sudden increase in the humidity. The usually clear
skies assume a cloudy and hazy look.
With the departure of the monsoon, the sky once again dons
its usual sunny look and the weather becomes pleasant. From
October till February, the Climate of Goa is just about perfect
with spotlessly clear skies, warm days and calm waters. As
the month of March draws to a close the rise in humidity is
once again noticed with the approach of the monsoon.
