to fame. Goas is also renowned for its churches and

One such must-visit church in Goa is Goa’s The Chapel of Our Lady of The Mount.
As you proceed 2 km on the main road towards Ponda you will
find a road that branches off towards north at a place where
a cross serves as a prominent landmark. The same road leads
to a hill where The Chapel of Our Lady of The Mount in Goa
is perched. It commands one of the most picturesque views.
In order to approach The Goa’s The Chapel of Our Lady of The Mount you have to ascend a flight of steps that are made of
laterite plastered with lime mortar. One remarkable aspect
of the chapel is that it has three main altars that are consecrated
to our lady of the mount, St. Anthony and St. Andrew.
The construction of The Goa’s The Chapel of Our Lady of The Mount was commissioned by
Afonso de Albuquerque in 1510 and is referred to as in existence
in 1519. It underwent reconstruction twice.
