- Fort Aguada: Located on the beach
this is the most important and also well-preserved Portuguese
Fort.
It derived its name from Portuguese word "Aguada"
meaning "Water". Built by the Portuguese in 1612
AD,it was constructed to protect Goa against any enemy attack
from the sea. You will find inside the fort, a spring, which
was earlier used to provide water supply to the ships. Now
at present at one end of the Fort Aguada there is the central
jail of Goa.
- Beach Activities: The sea here
at the Sinquerim beach is relatively calm so swimming is quite
safe here .You can also indulge in water sports . One can
just walk through towards the north up to Baga Beach.
The added attraction of Sinquerim Beach is that the Aguada
and Baga beaches are nearby .
