When
the congested beaches of Calangute and Anjuna oblige you to
look for an alternative, head for the Candolim Beach. Candolim
Beach is a much needed reprieve from the beaches that spill
over with people. Though it is in no way an unfrequented beach,
yet it is not difficult for you to find a sequestered spot
where you can lay down and relax.
The sandy stretch of the Goa's Candolim Beach runs into the Calangute
Beach which is a busy commercialized center. Candolim beach
is a long stretch of uninterrupted beach that has the scrub-covered
dunes as its backdrop. The serene and tranquil ambience of
the beach favored by many is the result of the absence of
the resorts around the beach. But this should not lead you
assume that there are no tourist accommodations near the Goa's Candolim Beach. Infact there are a plethora of big and small hotels
near the beach. There is another fact that makes Candolim
famous. It is the birthplace of the greatest Goan freedom
fighter, Abbe Faria.
If you consider yourself to be a pro in angling, you can
try your skills at Goa's Candolim Beach. There are umpteen opportunities
for you to indulge in a variety of water sports, right from
parasailing to water skiing. In case you can't summon your
courage to engage in these activities, there are specially
appointed guides who will help you out. Another major attraction
of the Candolim Beach is the boating excursions that allow
you to enjoy sight of the smoldering sun dipping into the
sea.
